So who am I, exactly?

I'm a manager of businesses, a flyer of planes, rider of bikes and a player of basses. More importantly, I'm Carri's husband.

I like to THINK

Theory. Frameworks. Strategy. It's where I start and end my work day. And all in between, I take direction from it. Good thinking work is my first step in making good things happen.

I like to EXECUTE

But just thinking about things gets old. My "job well done" is when I see strategy turn into real benefits — for businesses and for people. Lots of people have lots of ideas; I'm interested in realizing them.

I like to PLAY

Work hard; play hard. I believe there is a real trade off between productivity and creativity. And to maintain the sort of creative energy that good strategy requires, I like to stay rested and refreshed.

Oversee all communication materials, design and implement the information systems strategy, including process and work flow design.

Design, build and maintain the complete marketing and sales program for 9Wood, an international, high-end manufacturer of custom architectural wood ceilings. Sit on executive management team.

Commercial pilot for a fractional airline flying the Pilatus PC-12.

Key skills

A few of the things I've learned along the way.

01. Executive Leadership

I like to cast vision and help people understand the bigger picture. I have learned to perceive value in delegation and scalability, and prefer to rely on excellent people rather than try to do everything myself.

02. Strategic Thinking

Good thinking work is where it starts for me. I enjoy it and understand it to be a high leverage point. I am certified in managerial logic frameworks and employ them regularly in my processes.

03. Marketing and Sales

I have lead marketing and sales teams with international reach. Stitching strategy and execution together to see quantifiable results is a passion of mine, and I love doing it while facing the market.

04. Management

Working with people is how I get things done. I like to bring empowerment and success to employees. And I have managed Human Resources, so I understand the nuances of intersecting real life with careers.

05. Process and Work Flow Design

Strategy drives tactics, but only via solid money-making logic. Well-designed processes are where I make sure the transfer of power happens, and nothing is lost in translation.

06. Story Telling

At the end of the day, I take a narrative approach to everything I build. When the story makes sense, there will be clarity and flow at every level.
